Hey guys! After thinking about this for a while, I decided to make a new blog as this one doesn't feel like it describes me anymore. You can find my new home at: Jennifer's Suitcase.
Thanks to everyone who joined me on this short(!) ride. :) xo!

Journal diy

I found an amazing tutorial for making a journal at Indie Jane Photography the other day. After reading it, naturally I decided to make my own version.
All I did was:
1) Got an old journal of mine and ripped out half the pages. (When I finish the journal, what I've added back will fill it out again.)
2) Used fabric tape and put in pretty paper or pictures.
3) Add a quote, verse, or lyric and the date.

I'll be posting an entry once a month. Here's today's. :)

For me, this is a really great way to remember all the things that inspire, lift me up, and even songs that were stuck inside my head. Plus it's pretty. :) I bought the fabric tape from The Plaid Barn during one of their one-day sales. The paper is just scrap I had in my craft organizer. (Yes, I have a craft organizer.. which needs to be re-organized.. eh, maybe on winter break.)
Hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend! xo

Summer Outfit

Lazy summer days. Reading in the hammock, crafting, and dreaming little dreams.
Then school starts, and half my time is gone. Le sigh.

I love curling my hair with rag curls. I found a great tutorial over on A Beautiful Mess. The only thing I changed was the size of the curl. I like larger curls, so I just rolled up more hair. People have told me when I wear my hair like this, I look like Taylor Swift. Sometimes I see it, sometimes I don't.

Anyway, this outfit is a favorite. I've worn the dress out alot, because it's so easy.

Memories: Last summer

Last summer was so full of excitement. My family had just moved from a dinky subdivision to 11 acres of land. I was going to be a senior in high school. I had a lot of things going for me.
Now life is a little scary. I'm going to do some things I've dreamed of doing, and some things I've avoided for a long time.
The past always seems like a happier place, with better people and scenery. I miss that hopeful anticipation of exciting things.

Chic craft: Glass bottle bookends.

This diy is so easy to do, with the supplies it only takes about two minutes. Here's my supplies:

1. A random assortment of buttons, beads, shells, bits of ribbon, river rocks, whatever you choose! For mine though, I just used beads, buttons, and ribbon.

2. A glass bottle. For a different look, I used a vintage coca-cola bottle.

3. A cork to fit the mouth of the bottle. This is optional, as I just didn't want everything to spill out accidentally.

Next, pour the beads in. Unless you are using tiny beads, funnels do NOT work. Everything just gets stuck.
Here's how I did mine:

After you get the bottle as full as you want, stick that cork in! The finished diy:

Hello to the blogging world! As this is my first post, I will outline the things I will be doing in this blog.

I am going to post once a week, because, well, right now I'm blogging to no one.

Each week, I will post anything from a craft, to a poem, or an outfit I wore. This is just the beginning, so the sky's the limit! Thanks for joining me!
